Meeting Notes
- Discussed book swap in April. Will include books as part of our regular food shares instead of a single event – possibly build a mobile wooden book box.
- T-shirt fundraiser is going on and ends May 30th. Put in your t-shirt orders https://waukeshamutualaid.org/wman-t-shirt-fundraiser/
- Lindsey is preparing for a meeting with Mayor Alicia Halvensleben -if you have any ideas for discussion, send ideas to Lindsey.
- Discussed partnering with local non-profits so we can do raffles for a fundraiser – reach out to Lindsey if you are connected with a non-profit that can help us
- Discussed selling at craft fairs to raise funds – reach out to Lindsey if you know of any fairs that we can participate in
- Activist Book Club – Ashley will head weekly Activist Book Club meetings – meet up to discuss books we’ve been reading. It doesn’t have to be a specific book. Meeting location: Waukesha Café House – time TBD
- Lindsey and Fen met with principal at Summit View Elementary and secured collaboration – WMAN will have a space to hold educational content for SV families as well as general public if needed
Upcoming Events:
- Sunday May 17th – Olive will lost a mushroom log inoculation demo and foraging walk at Frame Park – time TBD
- May Food share/plant swap is May 30th – food share at the AB room at the Waukesha Public Library/Plant Swap right outside at Cutler park – Fen will do a demo on hydroponics. We will also do Plank Kits that people can do a milk crate garden in. Gardeners – we can use herbs and determinate tomato plants
- Bicycle Repair Clinic/Skill share is happening June 6th at Cutler park. Can accept donations for bicycle parts t the May food share – ask people to bring in replacement parts if they know what is wrong with their bike and we can help them repair or show them how to repair
- August 15th time TBD, Music benefit at Matty’s Music Lounge with many bands
- Pride Fest – we secured a booth at Pride fest and will be selling merch and crafts. If you would like to help, reach out to Amethyst.
